If I use pressure cooker, it will take for few minutes to cook.

I harvested chives from garden and will use for dumpling party on 7/30 @Deborah’s palm. Chives, Japanese cucumber, Morocco bean, Japanese bell pepper, Mizuna Japanese cucumber, just cut and serve with kelp salt. Very crispy, juicy and tasty!

I harvested first Japanese pumpkin from vegetable garden! I seeded and planted Japanese pumpkin first time this spring, now growing very well and have many fruits. I only seeded dark green pumpkin, but they have some light green color pumpkin too. I will keep it for few more days for additional ripping period.
During the Europe trip, lots of vegetables were growing in the vegetable garden.
I harvested Mizuna/Japanese leaf vegetable, good for salad and cooked both.
Chrysanthemum/which grew too much, had flowers already.
Lettuce/which my garden neighbor gave me small plants, now they are grown.
Turnip/my garden neighbor gave me, he grew turnip so well, they are so tasty.

I made baked bamboo shoot with sweet miso for the class on 4/24. Bamboo shoot is in season now, fresh ones are only available in short time period. If you boil fresh one, of course taste better. We ordered burdock and squid

I made simmered pork ribs & daikon for dinner. Normally it will take some time to cook until pork ribs become tender. But if I use pressure cooker, it took about 15 minutes and just simmer until evaporate liquid. Especially daikon is so tender and it’s melting in my mouth!

I made duck hot pot for dinner and this is the best pot dish at my house. Also duck will help to lower the LDL cholesterol too. Ingredients: ground duck, Japanese leek, shiitake mushroom, shimeji mushroom, tofu, water cress, lily bulb, and burdock

Happy New Year! In Japan, New Year’s day is the most important holiday. I cooked and prepared new year’s dishes on new year’s eve and celebrated new year with new year’s dishes. I just returned from Hungary on 12/26 night so I only cooked simple dishes this year. Appetizer/Sweet potato with chestnuts, Baked chicken, walnuts
