I happen found “Rakkyo” at Japanese grocery and bought it for 1 lb. Rakkyo is very seasonal and I do not see this so often at Japanese grocery.
Rakkyo is a chives family vegetable.
Washed and soaked in salted water for 3 days. Take off the root and shoot and skin, boil for few seconds.
Soaked in marinate liquid for 20 days.
