We celebrated my birthday and my younger son cooked birthday dinner for me!
He prepared Tomato Hot Pot & Ostrich Live and Kudu pate which is his souvenir from Africa

Ingredients, carrot, onion, chicken, green onion, celery roots, mushrooms, cabbage, Italian parsley, Potato,
Tomato Hot Pot, lots of vegetables and he made chicken broth from scratch and used my house grown tomato paste, healthy and tasty!
OMG, he gave me rose flowers too!
My husband gave me a printer & my older son gave me massage gift card too.
After few days I returned from Boston, I got a phone call from my mom and she told me that she fell and could not walk. She asked me to come back to Japan but I was coughing. After I got over my cold, I visited my mom in Japan again.
She could only walk in her house, she needed lots of help. I did grocery shopping, garbage clean up, cooking for her breakfast & dinner, did some errands too.
This is a pumpkin my mom’s friend grew in her garden, very sweet and tender, good for pumpkin soup.
I and my mom celebrated Xmas and sang Xmas song with Xmas toy which is my son’s gift from Germany.
My husband hosted my birthday dinner @Yoshimura restaurant.
We enjoyed Kaisen Kaiseki Course.
I cooked Horsehair Crab for my birthday celebration with my mom too. It was very tasty!
I made year-crossing noodle from my brother’s hand made soba noodle on the new year’s eve.
Also I made Osechi/New Year’s dish, Simmered vegetable with chicken & Daikon namasu.
Lunch special in Japan
I had my birthday dinner with my mom @TreMonte on 12/30 because most of the restaurants are closed on my real birthday, new years eve, 12/31.
