I went to Ireland to attend my son’s graduation ceremony at the end of April(4/21-4/29).

My flight on 4/16 has been canceled in the middle of the flight due to the Iceland volcano restriction but finally I got there on 4/22.

2010/07/09-7/19 Japan Trip

I went to Japan for 10 days to visit my parents and showed them my newly published cook book/Healthy Soshoku. My dad is a Parkinson but he still recognized me and he was glad to see my newly published cooking book. It was very humid in Japan in summer time because I was so spoiled California’s dry weather.

I and my mom had a dinner @Bunryu which my mom heard about from her friend.

I met my friend @Tsukiji and had a sushi lunch. Tsukiji is a famous place for the fish market and other foods market.

I met my friends at Kichijyoji where our university is located and we were hung around when we were at university.

I stayed @Argonaut hotel in San Francisco for two nights because my husband attended OLED’s 2010. Mainly I did marketing for my cooking book and visited individual book stores.

My husband had a conference in Toronto and I went with him. This is the hotel lobby at Fairmont which is located just across the Union station.
2010/12/06-12/10 Washington DC Trip

My husband had another conference in Washington DC and I went with him. We stayed a huge hotel with convention rooms. This is the indoor open area in this hotel and nicely decorated for Christmas.  They have restaurants and shops in this area.

I visited Mount Vernon which is the place the first US president/George Washington lived at his 22-67 years old.

I left SFO on 12/14 night and arrived Hungary midnight on 12/15 to see my younger son who lives in Budapest.  My flight delayed for 3 hours due to snow in Munich.

I joined Hungary cooking class and I made Gulyas, chicken paprika and palacsinta. I added optional market visit tour.

I went Godollo Royal Palace where empress Elisabeth loved to stay. It was snowing on 12/18.

I visited Lehelcsarnok market which is the place local people goes for shopping.

Older son’s flight has been canceled and he did not arrive yesterday. So I visited Royal palace by myself.

Finally older son arrived Budapest last night and we had a Parliament tour.

We went to Szentendre which located along with Donau river.

We went to Hero’s square and it was foggy in the morning.

Budapest Christmas Market is held during November to December. There are food stores & craft/gift shops.

We saw operetta “Musical Tale” which was for children program in Hungarian language. Still we could not understand.
2011/03/8-3/24 Japan Trip/Earthquake, Tsunami & Wedding

I visited Japan from 3/8-3/24 and I was in Japan when the earthquake hit Touhoku area on 3/11. I was walking near from local station and I could not keep walking because the ground was so shaky. I had to stop walking and everyone stopped walking too. It was long earthquake around 5 minutes and I knew there was a huge “Tsunami” attacked Touhoku ocean side. After the earthquake, there were many accidents at Fukushima nuclear No.1 plant. Because of the lack of electricity supply, we had blackout in Kantou area. We did not have power for 3 hours per day. All my appointments were canceled except my husband’s cousin’s daughter’s wedding.

I flew from SFO to Budapest and met my younger son at the airport.

We had a lunch at the airport.

We skipped hotel breakfast and went to Galata bridge.

There is a boat to make & sell Balik Ekmek, the boat was very shaky but still they can make Balik Ekmek.

We took train from Sirkeci to Yedikule, visited Yedikule castle and towers.

We flew back to Budapest on 6/14 and met my husband. He booked a concert @St. Stephens Basilica.

I visited Museum of Applied Art, which is the first Art Nouveau in Budapest.

We took a train from Budapest to Bruno.

We took a bus from Kromeriz to Prague, it took about 4 hours. We visited old town area.

We visited Mozart museum because my husband likes Mozart.

We traveled to Sequoia National Park and Manzanar during July 4th holidays.

We visited Manzanar/Japanese Relocation Center, it took us for 4 hours drive to get there.

My dad is sick and hospitalized, I returned Japan on 8/22.

I had buckwheat noodle with vegetable tempura for lunch before I visited my dad @Hayakawa located in Higashi Murayama city.
